Yes, this is a safe procedure when performed by professionals who have been trained to offer this service. This treatment is as effective as traditional implant placement options for keeping your new teeth securely in place. Like other implant procedures, this can preserve the health of your jaw, too, which is better for your long-term oral health.
Since only four implants are used for this procedure, you’ll enjoy a faster recovery than treatments that require more implants. Unlike other types of implants, you will receive an arch of teeth the same day you receive your implants. You can eat and smile with these temporary replacements during the healing process. When implants are fully healed, you’ll return to our office to receive the final arch.
We will administer local anesthesia to numb your mouth prior to your full arch on four procedure. This should eliminate any discomfort. However, if you’re worried about pain, you can also receive sedation. Most patients can control the minor pain they feel after the procedure with over-the-counter medications like acetaminophen or ibuprofen. Discomfort typically won’t last more than a day or two.
